What is Lipodissolve?
Lipodissolve is technically called injection lipolysis. A clear solution containing a natural ingredients is injected into the mesoderm layer just under the skin. The result is necrosis(death) of fat cells in a small area. Body sculpting is obtained. The procedure does not replace weight loss of liposuction. What are the ingredients?
The injectable is referred to as pcdc. Phoshatidylcholine (pc) or lecithin is the main structural component of plant and animal membranes. It is used as an emulsifier in processed food, medications, and cosmetics. Deoxycholate is a bile salt found in animals. It dissolves dietary fat and helps digestion.

Who can have Lipodissolve?
Men and women over 21 with a body mass index less than 30 who have reasonable expections are eligible. Women who are pregnant should not have the procedure; come in after the baby arrives to sculpt away those maternity bulges. People who have had cancer within the past 5 years should not have Lipodissolve because the inflammatory nodules that may form can mimic lymph nodes. If you are allergic to soy, or have a bleeding disorder, or are taking coumadin (warfarin) you should not have Lipodissolve.

Does it hurt?
The injections are done with a very small 30 gauge needle that is virtually painless. I add a local anesthetic (procaine) to the mixture to ease the discomfort. As the fat cells die, the body mounts an inflammatory response to remove the cellular debris. This causes redness, swelling, and tenderness around the injected area. This reaction lasts a few days and can be controlled with Tylenol. Small tender inflammatory nodules can form under the skin that can last a few months. The inflammation is a desirable effect because it causes some skin retraction and tightening.

Is it safe?
Lipodissolve has not been approved by the Food and Drug administration. Since it consists of natural products that can not be patented, a pharmaceutical company is not likely to go through the expensive process of obtaining FDA approval. There is a 30 year experience in Europe and South America. There have not been adverse events when given by experienced hands. Sterile technique needs to be used, and additives other a local anesthetic should be avoided.

What are the side effects?
Edema (swelling) and erythema (redness) and tenderness are expected 100% of the time. If you do not have this reaction there has not been any tissue destroyed.
A burning or itching sensation under the skin can last 2 to 3 hours after the injection. Bruising is quite common and can cause discoloration. Sometimes the skin will be numb for a few weeks.

How often can I have the injections?
Lipodissolve treatments should be given at least 2 weeks apart.

Does Lipodissolve work for cellulite?
Cellulite is caused by expanded fat cells trapped by fibrous bands just below the skin. Lipodissolve is injected into the peaks and collagenase is injected into the valleys to smooth the contour of the skin.

What are Mesolift and Mesoglo?
Mesolift and Mesoglo are mesotherapy procedures that cause facial rejuvenation by introducing substances into the mesoderm, which is the layer just below the skin.

How does it work?
Microtrauma stimulates fibroblasts which secrete collagen and elastin. Vitamins, hydrating agents, and exfolients are introduced into the mesoderm. The result is skin tightening and improvement of complexion and tone.
